Applications of Laser gas

There is a difference in the auxiliary gas used for laser cutting machine processing of different materials. Cutting thickness of different auxiliary gas pressure and requirements are not the same. From the cost, cutting carbon steel with oxygen is relatively cheap, cutting not carbon steel nitrogen consumption is very large, the thicker the stainless steel nitrogen consumption and purity requirements are very high, the cost is relatively large.

Laser cutting machine auxiliary gas is mainly used in:

1. laser gas (laser generator used to produce laser gas)

2. compressed air (generally used to protect the optical path, some manufacturers also used as a protective gas)

3. auxiliary gas (from the cutting machine cutting nozzle gas)

Cutting carbon steel with oxygen, its purity requirements are generally 99.5% or higher. The main role is to help ignite and blow off the cutting slag. Pressure and flow of each laser cutting machine manufacturers vary, which is inseparable from the size of the cutting nozzle model, cutting material plate thickness. General requirements of the pressure in 0.3-0.8Mpa, cutting nozzle section generally 0.02-0.05Mpa. flow is not good, such as cutting 22mm carbon steel, some manufacturers of the flow rate to reach 10M3 / h (including double cutting nozzle protection with oxygen)

Cutting stainless steel with nitrogen. The role is used to prevent oxidation reactions and blow off the slag. The purity of nitrogen has high requirements (especially more than 8mm of stainless steel, the general requirements to reach 99.999% purity) pressure requirements are relatively large, the general requirements of 1Mpa or more, such as cutting more than 12mm, or thicker to 25mm of stainless steel, the requirements of a higher pressure, more than 2Mpa or higher. Flow rate according to the cutting nozzle model has changed, but are very large, such as cutting 12mm stainless steel to some manufacturers to 150m3 / h and cutting 3mm, as long as the flow rate of 50m3 / h or less.
